Meet Our Pastor

Church

Bishop Leroy Davis is the founder and leader of Word of Faith Christian Center Church in Peoria, Illinois. As a young boy of only sixteen, Bishop Davis received his divine mandate from God to go and preach to all nations. He immediately began his journey. In 1976, as a young man of God, he became the Pastor of Pentecostal Temple in Peoria.

Presently Bishop Davis shepherds over the flock of Word of Faith Christian center Church. This multicultural institution consists of several ministries: television/radio/tape ministry; a convalescence ministry for the sick and shut-in; and a mentoring ministry which services youth in crisis; a young adult ministry; and children's church. As well, Bishop Davis and his congregation are now preparing for the undertaking of a multipurpose center to provide services for spiritually and financially destitute families.

Bishop Leroy Davis founded Word of Faith Christian Center Church in 1976. Word of Faith Christian Center is a multicultural, non-denominational, Word of Faith Church. Bishop Davis is grateful to God for his supreme mandate, for such an institution to be developed in Peoria, where his divine plans for His People are not adulterated nor modified. Bishop Davis graciously credits his mentor and teacher Dr. I.V. Hillard of New Life Christian Church, Houston, TX, for influencing his recent insight and knowledge in Godly principles and church growth. In addition to Bishop Hillard, Bishop Davis also admires and adheres to the teachings of Kenneth Hagin, founder of Rhema Bible Training Center.

Bishop Davis has chosen II Timothy 2:2 as his mission statement, his covenant to God, and his pledge to his followers. "And the things you have me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." II Timothy 2:2 NIV

  • We dream of a Midweek Believer's Service that involves 5,000 adults and youth in edifying worship and study of God's Word.
  • We dream of a faculty of 50 gifted lay teachers, equipped with the vision, character, skills, knowledge and expertise to feed the flock in our church. We intend to train our teachers to be experts in areas such as doctrine and Bible books.
